Background and Purpose: Computer gaming addiction, characterized by excessive or compulsive gaming behavior, has been recognized as a phenomenon that interferes with individuals' daily lives. Users may engage in gaming compulsively, disconnecting from other social interactions and devoting their focus primarily to in-game achievements, while neglecting broader life events. This literature review aims to examine the effects of computer gaming addiction on various dimensions of individuals' lives and health.
Method: This paper presents a review study conducted through library research, involving the examination and analysis of relevant studies on the topic. The review included accessing international reference sites to compile and organize the gathered information.
Findings: Based on the reviewed literature, computer gaming addiction can impact various aspects of individuals' lives and well-being. This disorder may lead to physical, psychological, social, and academic problems for individuals.
Conclusion: Therefore, addressing prevention and treatment methods to reduce the problems associated with this disorder is recommended. Establishing policies for prevention and intervention at the family and societal levels is deemed essential.
